The more I use a Steam Deck, the more I feel big boxes hooked permanently to a single TV are ridiculous.
Pick up and play anywhere, with the ability to hook up to a TV is just…so much better!
If Valve doesn’t do a Steam Deck 2 I will be quite sad.
The OLED design is basically perfect. Just bump up the APU in 2 years time 👌
So you boought/are buying dated server hardware?
Imagine paying over $500 on a Dell Precision 7920 and spend over $100 a week adding 64GB of RAM to it till you max it out, putting Windows on it, and using it as a general desktop. Like why?
In all honest I would really like to try something like #100DaysOfGamedev , but I have no clue how to keep my #ADHD ass accountable for following up on it daily.
I like the spire work in #PokeRogue https://github.com/pagefaultgames/pokerogue
This container can turn a computer into a #Gentoo distcc node in minutes. https://hub.docker.com/r/ksmanis/gentoo-distcc
So I got distcc going and configured properly now my families "Youtube Boxes" can be put to work and I can clime the hurdles of "webtk" & "qtwebwengine"
Okay #Gentoo people, I have been able to troubleshoot and work my way through things as needed. Though I am just stuck with this one. I want to install the binary of Firefox like so: "sudo emerge --ask --changed-use -G www-client/firefox"
I then get hit with the following issue:
"- www-client/firefox-115.10.0::gentoo (masked by: use flag configuration mismatch)"
All I want to know what use flags are missmatched.
PSA - If your Steam Deck or Steam on Linux has started failing to download or launch Proton games, you may have caught a bad config from Valve's servers.
We believe the problem is fixed now, but you need to delete a cache file locally (`~/.steam/steam/userdata/<steamid>/config/compat.vdf` where <steamid> is your id).
See https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/10846 for details.
