Does anyone run #ghostBSD as their daily driver? If so how is it?

https://www.ghostbsd.org/

@rain Hello, Rain!

I've began using GhostBSD (almost daily) since less than a month.

Installation was smooth. It detected my NVIDIA graphics card, and works so good so far. GhostBSD's official flavour comes with the MATE desktop environment and feelis pretty much like a GNU/Linux distro. As a matter of fact, its packages seem to be direct ports from those ones from GNU/Linux, according to the packages name on the Software Station repository (as you can see in the screenshot here).

Screenshot of the GhostBSD's Software Station repository, with a list of software packages being shown, all of them including the "linux" term.

@KNTRO Very interesting! Thanks for the feedback!

If you don't mind me asking what made you decide to use it as a daily driver? (genuine curiosity)

Windows 10. awesome No kidding.

Since support for W10 ends in next October, I begun to test other operating systems. In the past, I had a bad experience when trying out GhostBSD (graphics issues), and so I discarded it. But after a Mastodon user mentioned it recently, I gave GhostBSD a new try. And I'm in love with it. 💘

GhostBSD is a real FreeBSD for desktop users, a simplified FreeBSD for home users. 😉
