I know time always moves forward and everything decays/changes but really wild to see gbatemp.net be so much a a shell of its former self. They somehow lost all smarties while keeping all the dummies. I don't even want to get started on wololo.net lol.
I think it has to do with console/handheld modding being a dying concept. I always said as smart phones came out that hombres died because everything could just be a App on a phone. Bootying games is the only real reason to mod anymore (many would argue that was always the reason), but most the time it what's the point of handicapping your system to get a game for free that you could just obtain on PC since almost everything is on everything now.
I am really curious what the #Switch2 scene will be like & if it will have the growing pains of the 3DS & Switch1 scenes or if it can just pick up where the Switch1 scene left off once there is a exploit of some sort. Also curious how much of a motivator the drastic price hike in games for the Switch2 will motivate other & where that will take things.

That seems to be a problem with tech in general. The talent just isn't there anymore. Even for pirating PC games, there's only a handful of groups doing any kind of DRM cracking. Phones are also getting less and less people jailbreaking or rooting them. The android custom ROM scene is especially sparse these days despite them getting almost officially supported through GSIs and easier than ever to make.
A lot of people are expecting the Switch 1 emulators to be able to play Switch 2 games with a little modification since they're supposed to be pretty similar and that's the theory for why Nintendo has been trying so hard to get rid of emulators since a few months before the Switch 2 announcement.
