The press says it was for months, but I guess they're being mum to saying it's not now. I have no trust given how so many wanted to remake this for "modern audiences". They even casted that woke singer lady.

from a pure box office math perspective, i don't expect it to reach $1B this time, the magic and novelty is gone, but since it appeals directly to women, it's probably going to be more popular than a sequel would be otherwise. i'd probably put the ceiling around 800M.

@coolboymew I fully believe this movie was created to destroy the character of the Joker built up in the first movie and try to dismantle the memetic culture surrounding the first. That's the only thing that makes some sense of the weird casting choice of Lady Gaga and the "musical" interludes they're throwing in
