So I decide I will attempt the #Gentoo 
install on my #Thinkpad #X230T 
this weekend . Will hold off before I try it on my main desktop since that the center piece of my amin setup. I did not wanna really do a VM first because all of the setup would be for not. I figure the X230T is a good starting point since it gets used about 12 hours or so a week at dialysis. Kinda exciting to actually learn a new distro being a #Arch
