@critical Depends on the context. It is not uncommon for a anime to have a in universe parody of Super Sentai and/or Kamen Rider which are both live action shows.
@critical those animes i saw, use a much simpler drawing style for such situations

@rain hmm, so in that case, in-universe anime would have even simpler drawings
@critical I think it would probably (hopefully) just be in a different style.
A good example would be the Anime/Mange Genshiken has a popular anime in universe called Kujibiki Unbalance (which later became a real anime in our universe), which often displayed a different style to help show that it is not a live action show in universe.
Or Bakuman/Comix Party that tries to show a more refined style when they they show reference to a in universe Manga compared to the style the show is in. They way colors is used is often important as well with the shades and tones.

@rain ok, this makes sence.
But what if they put live-action footage in anime?

@critical I am not sure as I dont think I have seen this in anime. Though I have seen quite a few times where in Manga or Visual Novels whey will use "real images" for TV, Flashback, Backgrounds, etc. Where it is a real image but like a blur tool over it. I don't have any quick examples on hand.
