@1iceloops123@shitposter.club In what way?
@1iceloops123@shitposter.club How do the bigger instances make the rules? You only make your own rules and if they decide to stop federating with you that's on them.

@Ricotta Honestly if they want to really engage in that, it’ll just made their megainstance another Twitter clone like Gab. That’s fine by me. This, coming from someone who got defederated by Poast a couple days ago.
@Ricotta He deleted my account remotely because I used soapbox frontend code that schedules posts to call him a faggot, and point out he tried to take credit for code I wrote lole. Then he defederated from my instance entirely when @moonman jumped ships from Poast to here over his speech control policies.
@NEETzsche@iddqd.social @Ricotta@yggdrasil.social @moonman@iddqd.social @1iceloops123@shitposter.club I don't defederate with any instance but I do gotta say poast is one of the instances that has caused the most trouble for me so far and has required me the most amount of moderator actions.
@NEETzsche@iddqd.social @Ricotta@yggdrasil.social @moonman@iddqd.social @1iceloops123@shitposter.club To be fair scheduling posts to spam someone is a fair reason for a ban.
@SuperDicq What kind of problems have they brought you?
@NEETzsche@iddqd.social @1iceloops123@shitposter.club @Ricotta@yggdrasil.social @moonman@iddqd.social Mostly spam, few cases of harassment and most notably posting nazi shit.
@SuperDicq You’re going to be hard pressed to find zero Nazi shit posting on right wing fedi. I don’t really mind that so much but I do find Poastwiggers irritating because they think typing nigger/Jew on the computer is somehow going to save the white race.
@NEETzsche@iddqd.social @1iceloops123@shitposter.club @Ricotta@yggdrasil.social @moonman@iddqd.social I don't ban nazi shitposting on sight. I'm generally not bothered by it as long as they don't harass other users.
However I do hide everyone who posts nazi shit from the global timelines and force their posts to be NSFW. I also instruct my own users do to the same if they want to post stuff like that. I basically consider it to fall under NSFW rules because I'm pretty sure your employer doesn't wanna see swastikas on your computer.
@1iceloops123 @SuperDicq I saw a bit of this from dot social a couple of years ago, but I really think a lot of people just got fed up with their endless bullshit and I think I only know like 2 people on that instance now. People just moved away because of the endless drama and the userbase's tireless need to pick fights.
@sullybiker@sully.site @1iceloops123@shitposter.club I generally don't get involved with fedi drama. If someone defederates from any of my instances I usually just ask why and if they don't answer that's fine by me.
@1iceloops123 @SuperDicq I blame Eugen for most of that, because he very publicly position dot social as 'that kind of place', it was the shop window for Mastodon's vision of the Thousand Year Fedi and so it attracted a lot of grudgers.
@SuperDicq That’s entirely fair. And Poasters are notorious for their dogpile tactics. Is that the harassment you’re referring to?
@NEETzsche@iddqd.social @1iceloops123@shitposter.club @Ricotta@yggdrasil.social @moonman@iddqd.social What I hate most about poast is that they pretend to be a generic fedi instance where everyone is welcome while putting no effort into attracting any users that are not edgy 4chan /pol/ kids, while other instances with a similar demographic are usually quite clear about that.
@1iceloops123@shitposter.club @NEETzsche@iddqd.social @Ricotta@yggdrasil.social @moonman@iddqd.social Honestly I think SPC is a very wholesome instance. The fun kind of edgy sometimes, not the cringe kind.
@kerosene@freespeechextremist.com @1iceloops123@shitposter.club @NEETzsche@iddqd.social @Ricotta@yggdrasil.social sjw is not from anywhere as I'm sure he has an account on literally every instance.
