I was thinking back to this statement from the Sony CEO saying no one actually used backward compatibility in consoles because no one wants to play ugly games, and how it'd fit what I've heard from my normie friends

I can't blame the guy for only taking into account the opinion of the only ones who are ready to pay full price these AAA PS5 games

@cantinto They created this bubble with the PS5 by claiming their new focus is to put all the budget on AAA games to get this cinematic experience they like so much :^)

@NeonPurpleStar I'm not too sure about the point you're making, but you can still find these kinds of experience in recent ones, though less in AAA games nowadays. I won't deny though that a microtransaction focused game will generate a lot more profits than a full priced one, but that quote was more about backwards compatibility and Sony's focus on better-looking games.

@solidsanek @cantinto I am still waiting on a reason to even begin to want a PS5. The "exclusives" out so far seem far form a reason to drop all that money and deal with the stress of finding one. Even the PS4 "cinematic AAA experiences" that I played were all just okay IMO.

@rain @cantinto I don't have a single reason to buy a PS5 too. There's the Death Stranding Director Edition that is a PS5 exclusive but I've played the base game already and that's enough for me

A few weeks ago I'd have mentioned God of War but this one is getting ported to PC now

@cantinto I was mostly thinking of what Sony claimed earlier this year:
>Sony Has Reportedly Shifted Focus to Larger AAA Projects, No Longer Wants to Develop Smaller Games
>Multi-million projects at larger studios like Naughty Dog, SIE Santa Monica, and Guerrilla Games seem to the priority at PlayStation.
