I wonder what malware/viruses would look like if every computer was running Linux. It would still exist.

@Moon it would every fucking hole imaginable

@Moon

just search linux cves?

@moth I assume there would be more bugs related to desktop software

@Moon

makes sense, it would be interesting to see which existing projects could adapt.

also would be nice to see distro with malware share ranking.

@Moon I think I would be most interested in seeing how distros would harden their repos since that is where most installed software would come from. A chunk of the windows Malware problem comes from downloading "random" .exes and such. Not saying Malware would not increase and stuff on Linux but more so how it incorporate with package management.

@Moon

Archbros looking at that AUR real suspicious now.

@moth @Moon anyone with a brain who uses the aur should review the scripts and what they are pulling, unfortunately a lot of people don’t and i wouldn’t be surprised if there was undiscovered malware in there

@moth @Moon not to mention orphaned packages of any magnitude can be maintained by anyone, no verification or reputation system there, the same package, so someone who thinks they trust a package running an update without checking again could have something coming

@jd @Moon

That's what I was thinking of really. Just "someone else will update this."
