One of the biggest contra points of the PinePhone is how it will go through its battery twice in a day. It has a SIM in it and I'm not doing anything.

@thatbrickster lol he said ContraPoints

@thatbrickster Same here. Though anytime it gets brought up in the community most people just say something along the lines of " yeah the software is not optimized yet" or worse "well its still in beta", and I am just curious what the real issue is when it comes to the idle drain.

@rain It's amazing how GNU/Linux does decent on a laptop compared to Windows but it struggles on a phone compared to Android (Android/Linux) and iOS.

@thatbrickster Could not agree more. I really hope withing another year we get a bit more power performance and can handle the basics (Camera, Data, WiFi, Bluetooth, Calls, & SMS/MMS) on the more popular distros. I am still blown away it can do what it can do already.

@rain I would definitely buy something like a PinePhone Pro if it meant at least two days on a single charge. I'm with you on how much better things actually are than I originally thought in this space, even if it had lead to big bumps along the way.

@thatbrickster Oh Yeah I have the brave heart edition and definitely ready to pull the trigger and get whatever the next #PinePhone hardware (more than just the board upgrade) comes down the line. I actively enjoy watching this space evolve

@rain I pulled the trigger on the Beta as apparently the manufacturing situation isn't looking to improve over the next year. The Pine guys have already changed the GPS chip between your model and mine.
