@rain the combat was very boring and all the dumb fetch quests put me to sleep. i got more out of the non-game elements (cutscenes, music) than the game itself. and after all that, to get the other endings, you have to replay more game.
i decided to just look up the endings and changed cutscenes instead. any game that makes me do that is a bad game imo

@why Oh very fair I do agree the combat (aka the main part of the game play) i very shallow and fixed in later games. I guess I got swept up in it all to where it did not bother me very much. Though exactly what you described is what I have struggled with in other games such as No More Heroes where I was groaning anytime I was not in one of the boss fights and had to do any other part of the game.

@why its still hard for me to believe automata and soon the replicant remake even exist. The og drakengard games were objectively horrible. They are among my favorite games but i wouldnt recommend them to very many people and i dont think anybody saw a modern sequel coming.

@dielan @why This is by far the best description of how I feel about Drakengard as well. I love them to death but I always find myself shying others away from them when I talk about them. They only get harder to play as time goes on.

@rain @why its like, we didnt deserve this and despite its problems with gameplay we didnt deserve how well it played overall.
