Victory #Jamz

So happy/relieved like nothing else. I finally got my movement logic sorted out and my Ships laser movement is actually working as it should. All it took was my getting a wrinkle to understand the Vector2 math & the `Vector2.rotated` method. Just makes me feel less dumb.
@away2thestars Oh pretty good, was more of a "refresher" run than anything. Wanted to get use to the controls, concepts, and so on. I mean I had only played like 40 min or so and died in a dungeon.
I have never heard of the Soulash games but after looking them up these are my cup of tea. Will have to pick them up =0

With the updated controller support this might become my new bed time #SteamDeck game.
Jesus fucking christ, what a quality post

Gonna give this another day or two before I just dump this into my girls steam account to never be played. Speak up if someone wants it. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get into the #Yakuza series and like JRPGS

Getting an itch to put of game dev practice and explore the #CavesOfQud again since I have not played in a couple years

@sun @coolboymew Oh no I get what you are saying now. Was not trying to argue or anything was trying to understand better is all.

@its_a_me Oh this is very good info. I am taking note of all of this, thank you! ๐
@sun @coolboymew Yeah it was IIRC, reminds me of how NES games on the Wii had iNES headers in them or something like that leading to the belief these were roms taken from the internet and not Nintendo's own dump

@sun @coolboymew I mean we already have stuff like this:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/1257880/Glover/
What's stopping a 3rd party like Treasure for coming out and just saying "Oh here is Mischief Makers for PC, we just decided to do this!"? Nintendo does not own the right to Mischief Makers and as far as they know its based on whatever source code that had

@sun @coolboymew Yea that's kinda how I saw it. Though it seems a lot of projects have way better jumping off points than starting from scratch. I would be far from surprised if we don't see a publisher or two down the road (that is still alive) use this tech to sell us a PC port of a N64 game on Steam
@sun Yeah it is pretty interesting and curious how the chips will fall. As once this gets going it is all over

@coolboymew Yeah I agree 100% because the cat is out of the bag and this is more or less that kind of treatment people have been asking for on these games for years and were willing to pay.

@sun @coolboymew Yeah I posted about this earlier. It is kinda bigger than just one game apparently. Like with some elbow grease you can use this for most N64 games

I would like to tap into the #Gentoo Fediverse mind pool one more time if I could have some advice.
I am currently on the Gentoo-dist bin kernel and would like start compiling and customizing my own kernel, but I have never done anything like that before.
So here are my questions:
- What is the best way to start?
- Are there any good tools/scripts/etc that I should use?
- Is there anything I could/should do to protect myself for goofing up?
Thank you for your time!
