Just a lonely boy living on his own instance (Now with SO).
Natural screw up, who often can not make a proper post.
Normally I just post about whatever my ADHD hyper focus at the moment is.

I deal in Random Access Memory & Random Access Memory Accessories

:archlinux: & :gentoo: is what I mainly run and happy with it. I hope you find software that you are happy to run and use.

@hund Thanks! I guess thats what I get for not searching for Firefox packages in emerge ablobsweats

So I got distcc going and configured properly now my families "Youtube Boxes" can be put to work and I can clime the hurdles of "webtk" & "qtwebwengine" gentoo_luv

Hmmm never mind it seems it also wants to install wayland. Which I really don't want. So it looks like I might have to compile it to avoid that.

Okay #Gentoo gentoo people, I have been able to troubleshoot and work my way through things as needed. Though I am just stuck with this one. I want to install the binary of Firefox firefox like so: "sudo emerge --ask --changed-use -G www-client/firefox"

I then get hit with the following issue:

"- www-client/firefox-115.10.0::gentoo (masked by: use flag configuration mismatch)"

All I want to know what use flags are missmatched.

PSA - If your Steam Deck or Steam on Linux has started failing to download or launch Proton games, you may have caught a bad config from Valve's servers.

We believe the problem is fixed now, but you need to delete a cache file locally (`~/.steam/steam/userdata/<steamid>/config/compat.vdf` where <steamid> is your id).

See https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/10846 for details.

@panpantepan What are those devices?

Apple ecosystem is overrated, welcome to the gnome ecosystem 🤓 (this is mostly a demo and you should not rely on these in a daily basis in a production environment)

gentoo mate Half~ way there

Real glad I got Neovim & tmux set up so I can config the rest of my user account and such as needed while I wait

How to Be Self Reliant

gentoo mate It Begins

@ryan Ah this is all good to know! Thank you

@mid_kid Great to know, thank you!

gentoo We did it

Is the #Mate mate desktop even still a viable choice anymore? Would like to put it on my #Gentoo gentoo install, but like man their blog does not even mention the most "recent" version. Just wondering if I would be better off just going the #XFCE xfce route.

gentoo Back up to the bootloader step cool_cry

@solene Yeah that is where I am at. Not too much more work, just annoyed at my self a bit. blobsmilesweat

gentoo Out of habit I have been going through the #Gentoo AMD64 handbook setting up for efi, only for me to get to the bootloader step and realizing I have #Coreboot on this X230T and I don't use efi. I hope I can recover this install with out too much issue

The title for this article got me more excited than it should have without reading the context

gentoo After falling asleep waiting for the kernel to compile I am back at it again configuring and installing tools.

I am almost ready for the first boot and the installing of the actual desktop

Still going getting sleepy its close to 1am. gentoo blobsleeping
